Adapting solutions

Bengaluru, India |

Embrace’s mission is to advance maternal and child health by delivering innovative solutions to the world’s most vulnerable populations. The organization was founded at Stanford University’s Institute of Design in 2008, when a group of graduate students were challenged to help families in the poorest regions of the world by designing an intervention for neonatal hypothermia that cost less than 1% the price of a $20,000 state-of-the-art incubator.

Today, Embrace is a rapidly-scaling nonprofit working to leverage the infant warmer as a catalyst for broader impact on maternal and child health outcomes in developing countries. We operate in 11 countries and have helped nearly 140,000 low birth weight and premature infants to date.
